POTTSVILLE (PA.) REPUBLICAN FRIDAY. AUGUST 24. 1979 i X-'flrtifranl Saturday 3 Alfred H. Davis, active churchman in Tamaqua Nicholas Pavelko Nicholas Pavelko, 708 Norwich Court, Sacramento, Calif, died suddenly Thursday afternoon, while at work. He was a former resident of Minersville.

Surviving are his widow, the former Regina Macknis, also a former resident of Minersville; his parents, Michael and Helen Pavelko, Minersville; three daughters, Gayle, wife of Raul Meza, Sacramento, Denise and Terry, at home; two brothers, Michael of Coal Castle and Joseph, Port Carbon; two sisters, Helen, of Jersey City, N.J. and Jeanette, wife of John Hughes, Fair Oaks, Calif. Funeral services will be held Monday in California. Warm weather is expected in the forecast period through Saturday morning, for most of the nation. Cooler weather is expected for the upper Great Lakes.

Skies are expected to be cloudy in the East but generally sunny in the West. Showers are forecast for areas of of the northern and eastern plains. i Pottsville teacher and prayer meeting leader. He was a lay delegate to the annual and general conferences of the church for 25 years. He was a past secretary, of the Junior Mechanics of the Reading Co.

i Surviving are his widow, the former Hannah Mae Thomas, a resident at the Retirement Village; a son, Dr. Raymond A. of Stuart, a daughter, Helen, R.N., wife of Dr. Ted Johnson, of West Lawn; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday morning from the Davis Funeral Home, Tamaqua, with the Revs.

Richard Davis have charge. Theresa McFarland Mrs. Theresa Betchker McFarland, wife of James McFarland of 522 W. Pine Mahanoy City, died Thursday evening at the Hershey Medical Center. Mrs.

McFarland was born in Mahanoy City and was the daughter of Mrs. Vilma Tichousky Betchker, Mahanoy City, and the late Joseph Betchker. She was a 1953 graduate of Mahanoy City High School. She was a member of Assumption BVM Church, the Sodality, St. Ann's Society and St.

Mary's Society, Group 54. i Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are two daughters, Sharon and Ann Marie, both at home; three brothers, Joseph Betchker of Avon, Ohio, Michael Betchker, Somerset, N.J., and John Betchker, Levit-town; one sister, Ann Betchker, Mahanoy City; nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday morning from the Haughney Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Assumption BVM Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Olejar 57, of 500 East Samuels Hazleton, died Thursday in Sacred Heart Hospital Center, Allentown. He was a supervisor at Bundy Tubing, Hometown. Mr.

Olejar was born in Lansford, a son of Mrs. Anna Duda Olejar and the late Joseph Olejar. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II, was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Hazleton Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his widow, the former Rosemary Harvilla; three children, Maryann, Joann and Michael, at home; a sister Margaret, wife of John Matula, Lansford.

Services will be held Monday morning at the John Burcin Funeral Home, Hazleton with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church and interment in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. The Thomas Skrabak Funeral Home, Lansford, is in charge of arrangements. Dr. Daniel R.

Mock Dr. Daniel R. Mock, 81, of Altoona, died Thursday at the Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville, where he had been a guest since September 1976. Dr. Mock, born Dec.

25, 1898 in Williamsburg, Blair Comity, was the son of the late George W. and Edith Hoover Mock. For many years he had been an obstre-tician at the Altoona Clinic, Seventh Avenue, Altoona. His wife, the former Sarah Lorenz, preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, John E.

of McLean, and a daughter, Diane Louise, wife of John H. Baker, West Orange, N.J. Services will be held Tuesday from the Daniel R. Meyers Funeral Home, Altoona. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mar-tinsburg.

The Allen Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements. Mary E. Kehler Mrs. Mary Ellen Kehler, 66, wife of James F. Kehler, RDl Hegins, died at 7:50 Thursday morning at Pottsville Hospital, where she had been admitted Wednesday.

She had been hospitalized intermittently during the past year. Mrs. Kehler was born Oct. 29, 1912 at Hegins and was the daughter of the late Francis and Fronie Huntzinger Morgan. Before retiring she had been employed in the garment industry in the Hegins Valley.

She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sisters, Mrs. Helen Adams and Mrs. Irene Batman, both of Hegins; a brother, Paul Morgan, Enola; nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday morning in Friedens Lutheran Church with the Rev.

Guy F. Koch officiating. Burial will be, in Friedens Cemetery. The Arthur R. Buffing-ton Funeral Home, Valley View, has charge of arrangements.

Walter Sokolosky Walter Sokolosky, 401 S. Cleveland McAdoo, died at his home Thursday after a brief illness. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Haddock Mining Company, Silver Brook. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, McAdoo.

His parents were the late Wasil and Felixa Lenesky Sokolosky. Surviving are his widow, the former Esther Sabulsky; two children, Eleanor, wife of Joseph McCarthy and Walter McAdoo; two grandchildren, two brothers, Alex, McAdoo and John of Westfield, N.J.; nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday morning from the Stanley Anilosky Funeral Home, McAdoo with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church and interment in the parish cemetery. Anthony J.

Lucas Anthony J. Lucas (Lutkus), of RD4 Pottsville, formerly of Joliett and Llewellyn, died at 5 Thursday afternoon at Rest Haven where he had been a guest since March 5. He was born March 4, 1906 in Philadelphia. Funeral arrangements in charge of the Stewart J. Dreisigacker Jr.

Funeral Home, Inc. were incomplete. Julia Ritsko Miss Julia Ritsko, of Buck Run, RD2 Pottsville, died at 11 Thursday night at Pottsville Hospital where she had been admitted Aug. 18. The Ritzel Funeral Home, Minersville, will announce funeral arrangements.

Edward J. McDonald Edward J. McDonald of Preston Hill, Girardville, died Thursday at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville. He was a retired Butler Township school teacher. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the McDonald Funeral Home, Girardville.

Davis, 90, of the Evangelical Congregational Retirement Village, Myer-stown, a former resident of 318 Lafayette Tamaqua, died Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, where he had been admitted Tuesday. He had been ill two weeks.

Mr. Davis, born in Jackson, was the son of the late William H. and Rachel Jones Davis, and was the last member of his immediate family. He was educated in the Girardville schools. Mr.

Davis was a train dispatcher for the former Reading Co. (now Conrail) before retiring. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church where he served as organist for 28 years and had been a Sunday School superintendent and Myrtle J. Neidlinger Mrs. Myrtle J.

Neidlinger, 60, wife of Monroe Neidlinger of RD4 Mechanicsburg, died Wednesday at her home. Mrs. Neidlinger was born Aug. 28, 1918 in Pine Grove and was the daughter of the late John and Sue Beck Roth. She was a member of St.

Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two brothers and five sisters, John Roth, Mrs. Violet Schnoke, Mrs. Olga Miller, Mildred Roth and Mrs. Mary Strubhar, all of Pine Grove, Mrs.
